What is CBD?

CBD stands for Cannabidiol one of 113 Cannabinoids present in the Cannabis sativa plant. Cannabinoids are active ingredients many of which are produced naturally in the human body and which interact with the Endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS system contains receptors which alter the release of neurotransmitters in the brain.

Is It Legal?

First isolated from the Cannabis plant in the 1940s, CBD has never been illegal in the UK. However, the Cannabis plant also contains many other Cannabinoids, one of which – Δ9‐tetrahydrocannabinol or THC, is the main psychoactive ingredient in Cannabis. This is most frequently found in high quantities in the female flower. THC is not legal to possess or grow without a license from the UK Government. However, as it is now possible to extract CBD from the Cannabis plant with no appreciable THC content, CBD is legal to possess and use.

Does It Work

In the UK CBD must be sold as a nutritional supplement, rather than a medicine. That being said, there are huge numbers of people who continue to buy and use CBD products.

How Do I use It?

CBD is now available in many different forms. It is even rumoured that Ben & Jerrys want to include it in ice cream…. The main options are:

  • In water as a tea, fruit drink or oral suspension
  • In an oil which is unadulterated, full spectrum (i.e. contains most of the “entourage” properties of the natural plant) or refined to remove everything except the CBD. It is recognised that the entourage effect improves the effectiveness of CBD, however for some whose profession includes having to undertake regular drugs testing, even the minute amounts of residual THC in full spectrum oil may be too high a risk and the refined oil is more suitable.
  • Tabs which could be in the form of Gel Tabs or Gummies or oral tablets. These are useful for those who dislike the taste of CBD
  • Vape liquid for use in a e-cigarettes. This is an efficient way of getting CBD into the system as the lungs are well provided with small blood vessels but often unpleasant for non smokers and the vaping is still controversial.
  • Cooked or baked into numerous foodstuffs.
  • As a massage oil, a cream or lotion. These topical applications are very good for the skin. Combined with essential oils they can also smell much more pleasant the raw CBD

What Is the Correct Dosage?

There are no agreed standards for the safe, effective and continual use of CBD. For most people it is a matter of trial to find an effective dosage that they are comfortable with. 

Most CBD is a sold with information on the package concerning a dilution percentage or the number of milligrams of active ingredient in the product. For instance, the packaging may say it is a 10% strength of CBD contained in the bottle. This information is useless unless you know “10% of what?” The number of milligrams per bottle is more useful, as long as you can work out the number of milligrams per drop of oil. For instance, a 10ml bottle of CBD containing 500mg of CBD can be assumed to contain 50mg of CBD in every millilitre. A drop from the dropper may hold 0.025ml or up to 0.5ml, so one drop from the dropper contains either 1.25 mg of CBD or 25mg of CBD.

At Blooming Oils, we produce massage oils with a range of different strengths and blended with 100% pure essential oils to provide further aid in your use of CBD. These are made with a number of different dilutions and made from CBD with different amounts of active CBD in the blend. Our main products are

  • CBD25 – made with 25mg per ml of CBD prior to dilution. These are blended with Ginger, Lavender, Peppermint or Patchouli to make them smell better and diluted to 1% or 3% depending on what is required.
  • CBD50 – made with 50mg per ml of CBD prior to dilution. Also blended with Ginger, Lavender, Peppermint, Turmeric, Ginger or Patchouli and diluted to 1% or 3%.
  • CBD75 – made with 75mg per ml of CBD prior to dilution. Also blended with Ginger, Lavender, Peppermint , Turmeric, Ginger or Patchouli and diluted to 3%.
  • CBD100 – made with 100mg per ml of CBD prior to dilution. Also blended with Ginger, Lavender, Peppermint, Turmeric, Ginger or Patchouli and diluted to 3% or 5%.

Ready to Use products are diluted with Organic Hemp Oil with less than 0.5% of CBD by volume. All products contain less than 0.02% THC and in most products the amount is negligible.

What are your customer service opening hours?

Our normal office hours are Mon-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm GMT.

How does your product search work?

Our search engine is very easy to use; just enter your search term in the search box at the top of every page, and all relevant products will be displayed.  On the results page, you can narrow down the search results even more, for instance by category.

Can I save my shopping cart to come back and order later?

Yes; just make sure you’re logged into your account when adding items to your shopping cart; these will automatically be saved and will be shown when you next login.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit/debit cards as well as Paytriot and we are happy to accept electronic bank transfers. The payment details can be found on our Payment Methods page. We also accept cheques for orders over £50.  Please note that choosing to pay by cheque may delay the receipt of your order, as it will not be shipped until the cheque has cleared, which can take up to five working days (in addition to the time it takes for the cheque to reach us).

What are your delivery charges?

Delivery charges, where applicable are based on the individual weight of the product (s) you are buying and the destination, so the price varies.  Delivery costs and the delivery options available are shown during the checkout process.  Click here for more information on delivery.

Can I get a copy of my invoice?

You can view invoices for any of your orders at any time by logging into your account and clicking “Order History”

How can I track my order?

You can track your order at any time by logging into your account and clicking “Order History”. Here you can view the status of your order (click here for more information on different statuses an order goes through) as well as any other relevant information, such as courier tracking numbers (assuming the order has been shipped).

If I want to buy something from Blooming Oils, is my credit card information safe from hackers?

During the checkout process, all your details are encrypted before being sent to our server, which essentially means that even in the unlikely event the transmission was intercepted by somebody, they would not be able to make sense of the information.  The encryption system we use is called Transport Layer Security (TLS), and is used by every company trading on the web to ensure security of customer information.  You can check to see whether or not your connection to a page is secure by observing the URL (web address); it will start with https:// as opposed to the normal http://.  Once your data is stored on our server it is saved in encrypted form.

As for your credit/debit card details, these are entered onto a website operated by a third party, Paytriot, and at no stage are your card details disclosed to us.  Paytriot will simply inform us of the outcome of the transaction so that we can process your order.  Paytriot has many years experience in the secure processing of card payments, and we have confidence in their ability to keep your details safe and secure.

Will you send me unsolicited promotional mail?

No.  We will only send you information that you have asked to receive or information associated with an order you have placed (such as an order confirmation email) or information relevant to your account with us.  We do not currently send a newsletter but if we ever do it will only be sent to those who have requested it, and it will be easy to opt-out if you no longer wish to recieve it.  Furthermore, we will never share your details with other companies for marketing purposes.  Please review our privacy policy for more details.

If I place an order for multiple items, will they ship all at once?

Generally, yes.  Sometimes, certain items may be shipped seperately; if this is the case with an order we will inform the customer of this and why it is happening.

If I’ve placed an order, can I amend it later?

If your order has gone beyond the Processing stage, meaning that payment has been taken, it is not possible to amend your order; the only option is to cancel it and place it again correctly.

I sent a product back for replacement; how long does it take to receive my replacement?

We will do our utmost to ensure that any replacements reach you as soon as possible, and will keep you informed of any circumstances that may delay your receipt of the replacement(s).  You can view the status of a return you have made by logging into your account and clicking “View your return requests”.

If one of the items in my order is out of stock, what will happen to the rest of my order?

This is unlikely to happen, since our stock database is updated in real time, and it is not generally possible to order items that are not in stock. However, in the event of this happening, we will contact you and explain the available options. For some items, however, it is possible to put in a back order so that once the item comes into stock you will be notified and the order placed.

What happens if I receive my order and some or all of the items are damaged?

Please contact us immediately so that we can investigate and resolve the situation.
